My guess is that you'd be transporting soldiers and equipment for a merc corp/alliance, and people belonging to that corp would log on and 'inhabit' one of those soldiers already present on the planet/orbit. Thus while you still need logistics, it will still allow for instant action for the Dust player.

Actually I'm starting to wonder that myself. It looks a little too polished to be ingame and we all know how ccp loves to make those omg pretty videos with 'ingame' footage. 
After 3 years, I would expect at least that much to be working. Think licensed engine.
